Commercial Policies

Last updated: 17 October 2026

These policies apply unless different terms are expressly stated in our written quotation or order confirmation.

1. Quotations and prices

Unless stated otherwise:

If our written quotation contains different terms, the quotation will apply to that transaction.

2. Payment

Full payment must ordinarily be received before dispatch.

For pre-ordered, specially procured or made-to-order material, Oceanic Offshore Agency may require an advance payment or booking token. The amount and remaining payment terms will be stated in the quotation or order confirmation, including a WhatsApp confirmation. The special-import terms below apply to imports arranged from China for a customer’s requirement.

For other pre-ordered material, the expected delivery period will be confirmed with the order and is normally at least 60 days. Special imports from China follow the separate estimate below. All delivery periods are estimates and may be affected by manufacturing, shipping, customs clearance and port operations.

Special Imports & Bulk Orders from China

We can arrange imports from China for specific lifting and material-handling products, bulk quantities or full containers, subject to sourcing availability and our quotation.

Order confirmation

Before you pay the advance, we will confirm the product specifications, quantity, price, payment stages, estimated timeline and cancellation terms with you on WhatsApp or in writing. Please confirm your acceptance in reply.

50% advance / 50% balance

A 50% advance payment is required before we sign the contract with our supplier in China.

The remaining 50% is payable after the material arrives at our Mumbai warehouse.

Material will be dispatched only after full payment has cleared. If the balance payment is delayed, the material will remain on hold and will not be dispatched.

Estimated arrival: 60–90 days

Estimated arrival at our Mumbai warehouse is 60–90 days from the later of cleared receipt of the 50% advance and signing of our supplier contract in China.

This is an estimate, not a guaranteed delivery date. Shipping and logistics changes, port congestion and delayed customs clearance may extend the period. We will communicate material delays.

Cancellation after supplier commitment

Once our supplier contract in China is signed, the advance is committed to the order. If you cancel after that point, the advance is non-refundable to the extent of reasonable, demonstrable costs and losses caused by the cancellation and recoverable under applicable law. Any balance remaining after those deductions will be refunded. Any additional loss claimed must be legally recoverable, with no double recovery.

These special-import terms take priority over the general pre-order payment, delivery and cancellation wording on this page for the special-import service. Nothing here excludes a remedy or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

3. Dispatch

Stock material is normally dispatched within 48–72 hours after receiving cleared payment and all necessary order and transport instructions.

This period may be extended because of public holidays, transport availability, access restrictions, labour limitations or other unforeseen events. We will make reasonable efforts to inform the customer of a material delay.

4. Transport arrangements

The customer must nominate a suitable transport company. Oceanic Offshore Agency may deliver the goods to the nominated transporter when the transporter is within an area reasonably serviceable from our warehouse, access and delivery are practicable, and the goods can be safely handled using the labour and facilities reasonably available to us.

Any unusual handling, loading, vehicle or delivery requirement must be disclosed before the order is confirmed.

5. Transfer to the transporter

Our dispatch obligation is completed when the goods leave our warehouse or are handed over to the customer’s nominated transporter.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, delays, loss, mishandling or damage occurring after this point are matters between the customer and the transporter. Goods awaiting onward movement at the transporter’s premises remain outside our possession and control.

On request made before dispatch, we may provide photographs or video showing the goods and identifying marks before they leave our warehouse.

6. Inspection before purchase

Customers may request to inspect available material at our warehouse before purchasing, subject to prior appointment and warehouse-access requirements.

The customer should verify the product, quantity, visible condition and agreed specifications before collection or dispatch.

7. Cancellations

Confirmed orders cannot normally be cancelled.

Advance payments and booking tokens for pre-ordered, customized, cut, fabricated or specially procured goods may be applied against reasonable, demonstrable cancellation costs and losses recoverable under applicable law. Any remaining balance will be refunded. For special imports from China, the supplier-commitment and cancellation terms above apply.

8. Returns

We do not accept change-of-mind returns.

Customized goods, cut-length wire ropes, fabricated slings, pre-ordered material and special-order products cannot be returned or exchanged.

If the goods supplied materially differ from the written order confirmation, the customer should notify us promptly and before using or modifying them. Any legally required remedy will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the transaction.

9. Damage and defects

Oceanic Offshore Agency is an importer, distributor and supplier and is not the manufacturer of the products unless expressly stated otherwise.

Customers should inspect goods before dispatch whenever practicable. Any visible concern should be raised before the goods leave our warehouse. Manufacturer warranty or support, where available, is governed by the manufacturer’s applicable terms.

Nothing in this policy excludes liability or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

10. Priority of written terms

Where a quotation, pro forma invoice, purchase order accepted by us or written order confirmation, including WhatsApp confirmation accepted by the customer, contains transaction-specific terms, those terms take priority over this general policy, subject to applicable law.
