1. Product photographs
Product photographs are illustrative. The supplied product may differ in colour, surface finish, markings, labels, packaging or minor design details because of manufacturing revisions, production batches or supplier changes.
Such differences do not necessarily affect the product’s intended function or confirmed specification.
2. Specifications
Website specifications are provided for preliminary comparison and may change without prior notice. Customers must obtain written confirmation before relying on any dimension, material, voltage, capacity, speed, weight, construction detail or other technical information.
The written quotation or order confirmation should identify the specifications accepted for the particular supply.
3. Product selection
The customer is responsible for determining whether a product is appropriate for the intended load, environment and application.
Oceanic Offshore Agency may offer general guidance or recommend an option based on information supplied by the customer. Such guidance does not replace assessment by a competent person, engineer, lifting specialist or safety professional where one is required.
4. Rated capacity
A displayed capacity is not automatically applicable to every configuration or operating condition.
Actual safe capacity may depend on:
- product size, diameter and grade;
- number of sling legs;
- sling angle and load distribution;
- end fittings and method of connection;
- lifting arrangement and operating environment;
- applicable derating and safety factors; and
- inspection, condition and conformity with applicable standards.
Never exceed the certified capacity applicable to the specific product or assembly.
5. Inspection and safe use
Products must be installed, operated, inspected, maintained and removed from service by appropriately trained and competent persons in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, applicable standards and statutory requirements.
Oceanic Offshore Agency does not provide installation or inspection services. Products must not be used if damaged, altered, incorrectly assembled, overloaded or unsuitable for the intended application.
6. Certificates
A manufacturer’s test certificate may be available for many products. Its availability must be confirmed before ordering.
For chain slings and wire-rope slings, testing through a government test house may be arranged at additional cost only when requested and agreed while placing the order. Testing must be arranged during fabrication and cannot ordinarily be performed after the completed sling has been dispatched.
Oceanic Offshore Agency does not own or operate a test house. Any external test certificate is issued by the relevant independent test facility.
7. Confirmation before ordering
Customers should provide complete application and specification requirements before placing an order. Safety-critical details should always be confirmed in writing.
